Passing the Flame…

While a touch late at posting this, I still wanted to share it with you.  November saw the arrival of the Olympic Flame on the West Coast of Canada in Victoria, BC.  The long journey started right here on Vancouver Island, and here in the Comox Valley we were witness to the relay on the 2nd of November.  It’s a grand event with media, sponsors, VANOC staff, spectators and of course the torch bearers.  I was able to find a quiet part of the route that offered a short opportunity to grab a few shots, and was even treated to a passing the flame opportunity.  The 2010 Torches are an interesting design with curves galore and an almost magical quality to how the flame floats on the white surface.  So I hope you will enjoy these few images of my exposure to the Olympic Flame for 2010, and perhaps you will have the chance to witness in person as the flame passes through your community as it travels Canada to end up in Whistler in 2010.
